Campaign packet to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of Bauer Hockey. After researching how Bauer markets their products, I discovered that for their different product lines, they are identified by color codes. Using that same logic to stay within their marketing strategy, I chose a burnt orange color to identify the 90th anniversary of Bauer Hockey. This color is used throughout my packet as color accents on their products, print collateral and digital. But it starts with the logo celebrating their anniversary.
I created landing pages, posters, stanchions and added the 90th anniversary logo to their existing products to serve as a mockup of what it would look like if it went live. For the products, I took existing products that they had and added the 90th anniversary logo, and added the orange color to bring it all together.
To push their brand’s success and products, I created a hashtag that the public can use to post on social media platforms. The idea would be that Bauer representatives would go to actual hockey games and set up a booth with the stanchions and free give aways. Each photo next to a Bauer stanchion, with the accompanying hashtag #BAUER90, would serve as a drawing ticket to win prizes from Bauer.
As the Graphic Designer and Staff Photographer at Wynn Resorts, I was tasked with taking professional photos, color correcting, editing, archiving it for future use. These photos required a lot of thought and coordination between different departments and the employees themselves. It required choosing an appropriate location, setting up lighting and posing the individual.
To see more of my photographs, I have examples of food photography and restaurant/landscape photography.
Sapa Inca Restaurant business card, menu & logo design. Sapa Inca is a restaurant inspired from its' roots from the Inca Empire era. The Inca Empire was one of the largest & they were well known for the quality of their textiles and materials. With that in mine, I created a logo mark that is bold and visually structurally sound. I used a cotton, card stock paper for the business card that has an appealing, high quality, texture when handling it. The menu is entirely custom by me. To make that association between the quality of material the Inca Empire used and Sapa Inca restaurant, I used wood as a platform to display their menu. I cut, stain and made inserts for their logo and menu to fit behind recessed glass that sits flush to the wood. It was exciting to work on and is still one of my favorite student projects that I have done.
Concept to live product. Every year, Wynn Resorts celebrates its employees by nominating 10 employees with a Employee of the Year nomination. I was tasked with creating a custom invitation that the 10 employees would receive. This invitation ‘look’ would be foundation of the entire event's theme. My design was chosen as the winner from 3 other concepts.
Creative poster displaying different amenities from around the resort. Created this display for the back of house area at Wynn | Encore Resorts to drive the need for employees to know their resort.
Each letter of the word “Resorts” uses a different location from the resort. For example, the ‘O’ is Wynn’s Cirque Show, Le Reve. I came up with the concept, then went to work acquiring photos and taking some myself. Then got busy with photoshop, editing colors, masking, color correcting etc. The end result was a huge success. It never “retired” from our circulation of displays. To get a size reference, the display was printed 4’ high by 12’ wide.
Life of Pi, one of my favorite movies!
What better way to show off my photoshop skills and creating a Fan Art Movie Poster. Coming up with this concept, I wanted to show how lonely and isolated the child is in the movie. To visually show that, I found this stock image of the movie. I then began my Photoshop journey. I began with clipping out the water that was originally there, and adding a night sky, filled with stars that mirrors off of the calm, glassy ocean water. I then added some clouds and then did some color correcting to make everything look natural and real.
Ambient magazine studies topics that we are in contact with/affect us. The theme/topic of the magazine changes every quarter, this Fall 2013 issue discusses the affects of natural darkness and artificial lights on the human body. Ambient magazine have heavy reading articles for science geeks and light reading in the several departments. This magazine also features stunning photography and can serve as a 'coffee table' style book. I took all of the photos and designed the entire magazine myself.
Wes Anderson creates amazing movies and his attention to detail is iconic. I love how Wes Anderson uses specific textures, wallpapers and colors in all of his scenes. I challenged myself with focusing on that same style, using textiles and actual materials to create the poster. I then photographed it and added the titles. This is a Fan Art movie poster set that I had a blast creating.
Created a campaign for their limited edition shoe. Concept project shows landing pages for desktop and mobile looks. Took the theme and also designed a couple spreads that would be in their Supra shoe catalog.
A display created to remind employees to 'work together'. This display was printed and mounted in several locations around the resort's back of house area. This project was rewarding to work on because it incorporates a diverse range of employees' arms. The background is a wall from the Wynn that I discovered and thought it would be a great frame with this concept.
Designed this poster for the people who run the CSU Summer Arts program. Their tag line that they wanted incorporated was "Igniting Artful Minds". So I came up with an idea to take a long exposure photograph & use it as a 'vehicle' for the idea of igniting artful minds.
